2013 Year End Social Event

KU Ars Members:

As we approach our final event of the year, and elect new KU Ars Rhetorica leadership, I just have to say, what a great year! In fact, in only our our third year, we accomplished a ton:

• We won a highly competitive RSA Student Chapter Award of $1,000.
• We brought in Dr. Jeff Bennett from the University of Iowa for our 2013 Spring Lecture Series.
• We helped an elderly lady get ready for springtime in our first Service Event.
• We expanded in both membership and board positions.
• We held several successful scholarly and social events throughout the year.

Let's end this year with a bang at Cielito Lindo on Friday May 10th at 6pm. We'll sit in the sun, scarf down some guilty pleasure Mexican food, announce our new leadership, and wash away the semester with some delicious margaritas.

We'd like to thank Dr. Jeff Bennett and the Rhetoric Society of America for the Student Chapter Award that funded this event. It was well attended and a huge success.

Service Day Success!

Thanks to Charlene Summers, KU Ars Rhetorica had a fantastic service day! Through an afternoon of yard work, we were able to help an elderly lady get her yard ready for those May flowers. Thanks everyone who came out!!
